A Perfect Pink Champagne Cake For First Birthday Celebration

The joy of celebrating is the passion behind my cake design business. I consider myself beyond lucky to have a wide circle of colleagues I call friends, and it tickles me pink (see what I did there) to create lovely cakes to mark their milestones.

One of my most special friendships is with event designer, Todd Fiscus of Todd Events. His sense of style and ability to edit design is impeccable. I love Todd and his husband Ceron. In fact, every time my friend Donna (who one of Todd dearest friends) visits Dallas, she takes along a little treat from me and per Ceron’s request…it is always pink champagne.

When their daughter, Emme, turned one, I had the honor to make her first birthday cake. Her large party, turned to a small, family affair this past May but that wasn’t stopping me from creating the perfect cake for the perfect little girl.

Todd left the design up to me! I let a simple swiss dot pattern and gorgeous pink bow adorn Ceron’s favorite, pink champagne cake with faux swiss meringue. I hardly wanted to outshine the birthday girl.

Like most little ones, you never know what mood they will be in for the big moment. I made Emme her own special cake but I think baby girl was a bit tuckered out from all the fun.

Happy Birthday, Emme! You are bathed in love from your fathers and all your Aunties!
